The Secretary to the Ekiti State Government, Dr. Habibat Adubiaro, extended her gratitude to the members of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) in Ekiti State during their courtesy visit to her office on Tuesday. She expressed her delight in their commitment to projecting the office and emphasized the importance of portraying themselves as exemplary role models.
“We should continue to project ourselves to see us as good role models,” Dr. Adubiaro stated. She also highlighted the need for promoting women in various leadership positions, noting the significant strides made for women under the present administration, which she described as gender-sensitive.
“Women have had it so good under this present administration. Our governor is gender-sensitive,” she affirmed, underscoring the administration’s commitment to gender equality and urging other states to follow suit.
In addition to promoting women’s representation, Dr. Adubiaro emphasized the importance of educating young girls in schools and encouraged NAWOJ members to extend their efforts to schools as well.
Mrs. Ademiju, the Chairperson of NAWOJ in Ekiti State, expressed gratitude to God and the state government for their past support. She also appealed for a closer collaboration between NAWOJ and the Office of the Secretary to the State Government.
“We are here to collaborate with you, to project your activities, and to familiarize ourselves with you,” Mrs. Ademiju affirmed, highlighting the association’s commitment to working hand in hand with the government to advance women’s causes and journalistic endeavors in Ekiti State.
