The Secretary to State Government Dr Habibat Adubiaro has reaffirmed the commitment of the state government to reducing maternal and child mortality across the state.
The SSG who made the commitment during the flag off ceremony of the second Round of 2023 Maternal Newborn and Child Health Week in Ado said that the present administration had put in place required mechanism to improve health care delivery system across health facilities.
The Programme organised by the Ekiti State Primary Health Care Development Agency in collaboration with The State Committee on Food and Nutrition was attended by top government functionaries and health practitioners.
Dr. Adubiaro commended the organizers of the event for their tireless efforts in planning and executing the programme geared towards a healthy society.
She noted that the dedication and passion are invaluable in driving positive change and improving healthcare outcomes for our community.
Dr. Adubiaro emphasized on the significance milestone of the government strive and collective efforts in prioritizing the health and well-being of mother’s, newborns and children in the state.
“This program demonstrates our unflinching commitment to ensuring easier access to essential healthcare services even for the most vulnerable members of our society”.
“I humbly solicit that we all reaffirm our dedication to promoting healthy communities. The wellbeing of mother’s and children in our various communities is a fundamental and by working collaboratively, we will make a meaningful and lasting impact on their lives” she affirmed.
Dr Adubiaro advised and urged all the participants to actively engage in the activities planned for the health week, including immunization, antenatal care, family planning services and health education sessions, among others,by taking advantage of these services,we are empowered to make more informed decisions about our health, overall well-being and that of our children,she said”
