Ekiti Sports Council Boss, Osetoba Hosts, Praises YSFON Cup Winners, Agbana Wonderful Academy

Players of Agbana Woderful Football Academy have paid a courtesy visit on the chairman, Ekiti Sports Council, Hon.Mrs Olusola Osetoba in her office.

At the visit held on Thursday, the Sports Council boss commended the coach Ademola Agbana boys for always showcasing the potentials of Ekiti state youngsters through their God given talents.

She described the feat attained by the team as worthy of applause having defied all odds to travel and participate in the YSFON soccer competition for young footballers from across the country.

The Sports Council boss who promised to always support every purposeful coach like Ademola Agbana whose vision is to promote budding talents said the recently inaugurated State Development Trust Fund would create an avenue for sportsmen and women to have access to more funds to prosecute their sporting programs.

Hon. Mrs Osetoba who entertained the players and coaches also with drinks also thanked other Board members of the Ekiti State Sports Council who joined her to welcome the Agbana Wonderful Football Academy team who won the 2021 Chief Of Naval Staff football competition prganised by YSFON in Abuja .

Agbana Wonderful Football Academy defeated their opponents from Zamfara 2nil, beat Gombe 3 nil and played goalless with Kaduna and Edo states prior to the Semi finals of the competition.

At the quarter final stage Ekiti Boys beat Kogi Boys 2-1 and also beat Kano in the semi final 8-7 on penalties.

The final match was between Ekiti and Kwara under 14 Boys as both teams settled for a 1 all draw while Ekiti Boys won the tournament’s trophy for the second consecutive time 5 goals to 4 on penalties.

Interestingly, 7 of the Ekiti under 14 Boys namely Uche Chinonso (captain), Abel Isreal, Olatunji Lekan, Oladimeji Muheez, Utuo Ephrain, Oladeji Micheal and Okunade Timilehin were picked by organizers and international Football scouts among the best players of the tournament just as coach Ademola Agbana of Ekiti state was named coach of the tournament while the team is also to represent Nigeria at a Youth Football championship in Sweden in 2022.

Ekiti Girls got to the semi final where they lost to Kwara Girls by 2goals to 1.
