The Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adeoye Stephen Aribasoye, on Sunday joined members of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in a special thanksgiving service to mark the church’s anniversary, the annual King’s Banquet, and a family thanksgiving ceremony.

The service, held at the RCCG parish where the Speaker worships, was described as a moment of gratitude and spiritual recommitment as the church formally dedicated the new year to God through prayers and thanksgiving.

Speaking during the service, Aribasoye noted that the King’s Banquet, an annual tradition observed at the beginning of the year, serves as a period of consecration, reflection and renewal for the church. He said the gathering provided an opportunity to acknowledge God’s faithfulness and seek divine guidance for the year ahead.

The Speaker emphasized the importance of humility, gratitude and total dependence on God in leadership, stressing that spiritual values must guide both public service and personal conduct.

According to him, leading worshippers during such a significant moment reinforces the responsibility of leadership and the need to remain grounded in faith while serving the people.

Aribasoye expressed gratitude to God for life, family and the opportunity to serve, adding that the thanksgiving service was a fulfilling experience for him and his household.

He prayed for a year marked by faith, unity and obedience, while calling on citizens to trust God for wisdom, direction and peace as the state and nation navigate the challenges ahead.
