The Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adeoye Stephen Aribasoye, has reaffirmed his commitment to community development and the strengthening of family values through active engagement with traditional institutions and faith-based organisations across the state.

Over the weekend, the Speaker joined the former Attorney General of Ekiti State, Olawale Fapounda, SAN, alongside other members of the Constitution Reform Committee, on a courtesy visit to the Owa-Ooye of Okemesi-Ekiti, Oba Michael Gbadebo Adedeji, CON.

The visit, held at the monarch’s palace in Okemesi-Ekiti, created an avenue for robust discussions on constitutional reform, grassroots development, and issues critical to the progress of local communities.

Speaking during the visit, Aribasoye emphasised the importance of collaboration between government institutions and traditional rulers in driving sustainable development.

“Our traditional institutions remain vital partners in governance and community building,” the Speaker said. “Engaging with our revered royal fathers provides valuable insights that will guide legislative reforms and strengthen policies aimed at improving the lives of our people.”

He described the meeting as “fruitful and forward-looking,” noting that meaningful dialogue remains a cornerstone for achieving inclusive growth and stability in Ekiti State.
