Heritagenewsng reports that 180 new cases of COVID-19 has been recorded between July and August 2021.
This was confirmed by Dr. Oyebanji Filani, the Commissioner for Health in Ekiti State.
During a press conference, the commissioner stated that 95 cases were recorded in July, and 85 cases were recorded in August.
The commissioner stated that the government would review some of the previous precautionary measures in order to prevent further spread.
He said a task force would be formed to review the rules, which include the requirement of masks and the prohibition of social gatherings of more than fifty people.
He also stated that religious gatherings will be limited to fifty people, with strict adherence to the provision of soap and water for handwashing.
Dr. Filani confirmed that the patients are stable and that the government has three isolation centers equipped to handle the situation.
