Abia Angels took early advantage of the high-octane encounter when Ekiti Queens’ goalkeeper’s error led to the opening goal.
Ekiti Queens found their feet with a brilliant solo goal from Christopher Amaka to level the score later in the first half while Abia Angels capitalised on another defensive error five minutes after the equalizer to go ahead one more time.
Ekiti Queens did not take the lying down and continued their onslaught against the Premier league side as Pascaline Adelabu brought them back on level term with an unstoppable shot which ended up in the bottom right corner to make it 2-2 before the half time.
As the Premier league team had threatened to do on several occasions, Abia Angels’ striker received a good pass on the edge of the 18-yard box and unleashed a shot that went in off the left post beyond Queens’ goalkeeper to make it 2-3 in the 75th minute of the match.
The Erelu Babes leveled up again through Nana Precious to make it 3-3 in the 82nd minute.
A late goal from Abia Angels’ skipper in the 86th minute to make it 3-4 spoilt the day for the Amateur side as they were eventually knocked out of this year’s Women’s Aiteo Cup.
