As the crisis rocking the opposition People’s Democratic Party, Ekiti state chapter continues to deepen, some leaders of the party which include, former governor Ayodele Fayose, Senator Abiodun Olujimi, Mr. Yinka Akerele, Otunba Bisi Kolawole, Mrs Funmilayo Ogun have okayed the appointment of Engr. Alaba Agboola as the new substantive chairman of the party.

This was made known in a letter addressed to the National Chairman of the party which was jointly signed by the party leaders.

Part of the letter reads, “Having followed the due process in line with the constitution of the party, the undersigned leaders of our great party in Ekiti state irrespective of our divide have unanimously agreed to the appointment of Engineer Agboola Alaba(Formely the Chairman of the defunct reposition group) as substantive Chairman of PDP, Ekiti state”

Recall that the State Executive Council of Ekiti PDP has at yesterday afternoon issued a press statement rejecting the appointment of Engr. Agboola as the new substantive chairman and also issued another press release ratifying the nomination of Hon. Deji Ogunsakin as the new Chairman of the party.

This scenario has created uneasy calm within the opposition party.
