Ekiti NSCDC Parades Seven Suspects
The State Commandant Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Ekiti State Command Mr Olatunde Fayemi today paraded seven suspects arrested by the Counter Terrorism Unit of the Command at the CTU Base along Afao road, Ado Ekiti.
Parading the suspects, the State Commandant gave their names and alledged offences as Adeniyi Folasade 38, who was an employee of an orphanage home in Ado Ekiti. Folasade has been using the name of the orphanage home to amass wealth illegally. In the process, the management of the home alledged her to have collected over one million given by good Samaritans for the aid of the children in their custody.
Folasade was also accused to have stolen properties of the Home depriving the children of the usage of these donated items and relief materials. Upon interrogation, it was discovered from her statement of account that, she has been doing this for over nine months before nemesis caught up with her.
Oloko Ayomide 20 years was also alledged to have defrauded a man to the tune of one million naira in Ikere EKiti, Muniru Yahaya a scavenger was alledged to have stolen over 200,000 naira belonging to a landlady in Ado Ekiti. Muniru who picked the bag containing the cash engaged in the act when the owner dropped the bag and attempted to open an entrance door in her compound. He was arrested after hot chase and combing the nearby bush by men of CTU.
Abiodun Owoeye 18years was arrested along Basiri axis of Ado Ekiti. He was arrested after successfully removed cables and other electric wires in a deserted house. Abiodun upon preliminary investigation, confessed to have committed the crime.
Timileyin Olorunfemi 24 years, Oladimeji Odunayo 26years, Jimoh Fatai 24 years and Agbelusi Sunday 28years were arrested for cult related activities in Agbado EKiti.
They conspired to murder one Anthony Dada in Agbado EKiti. Investigation showed that they are members of a secret cult in the town.
It was discovered during investigation that the cult members were always in the habit of smoking suspected substance believed to be canabis at the back of the victim house. The victim cautioned them and warned them to desist from the act and if continued, he may be forced to report their heinous activities to the law enforcement agencies.
The cult group later assaulted him physically in his house using cutlasses, stones, broken bottles and other sharp objects to beat him to stupour. He was later rescued by the people of the town and taken to a hospital for treatment. At the time of filling this report, the victim is still in the hospital bed battling for his life.
The suspects will be taken court for necessary actions in the face of the law after the conclusion of the preliminary investigation by the command .
