Ekiti Lawmaker Mourns Killing Of Two Monarchs,  Describe Act As Sacrilegious

A member representing Oye Constituency 1 in the Ekiti State House of Assembly,  Mr Tope Longe, has described the killing of two Ekiti monarchs,  the Onimojo of Imojo Ekiti,  Kabiyesi Olatunde Samuel Olusola (P.hd); and Elesun of Esun-Ekiti, Oba David Babatunde  Ogunsakin,   by armed bandits while returning from a meeting as abominable and sacrilegious.

He also condemns the kidnap of school children in Emure-Ekiti axis, describing the two incidents as frightening and unacceptable.

In his reaction, Longe averred that the recent  resurgence of banditry and  kidnapping along Ipao-Oke Ako-Irele axis by suspected Fulani herdsmen has become worrisome, saying that the latest separate incidents called for security emergency to be declared in Ekiti State.

Longe who described the late Kabiyesi Onimojo as his father and confidant, said “this tragedy  is a personal and irreparable  loss” to him
In his  condolence message, Longe  commiserated with the people of  Imojo community, Oloye-in-Council,  Esun community and Elekole-in-Council over this tragic loss.  He appealed to the people to remain calm while security agents work together to fish out the killers and bring them to justice.

Longe also commiserated with the Government and people of Ekiti State over this “unfortunate” incident. He expressed confidence in the capacity of the  government to fish out the killers and bring them before the full weight of the law.

Longe prayed for the repose of the souls of the departed monarchs.
