Ekiti Govt Introduces Teaching of Sign Language For Public Servants

The Ekiti State Government has approved the teaching of sign language for political appointees, Local Government Officials
and Civil Servants

The Special Adviser on Special education and Docial Inclusion, Princes Adetoun Agboola made this known in Ado Ekiti

Agboola said that the maiden edition of a 10- minute Facebook page training session for all public servants on sign language will take off on Friday, 1st December, 2023 at 12.00 noon.

She said that the training session will be on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays excluding public holidays till Wednesday, 31st January 2024.

Agboola stated that this was part of the efforts of the administration of the Oyebanji led- administration to encourage social inclusion that will guarantee more interpersonal relationship among the Civil Servants and other officers living with deafness and heard of hearing.

The Special Adviser stressed further that the programme will also promote social inclusion opportunities among the appointees of Government.

All public servants are expected to participate fully during the course of the training.

All Public Servants are expected to log on to the Facebook page which is EkSG Special Education and Social Inclusion for participation.
