Ekiti Governor’s Aide, Talabi Throws Weight Behind New Tax Reforms

….Lauds Gov. Oyebanji on the adoption of national tax reforms

The Special Adviser to Ekiti Governor on Special Projects, Hon. Bunmi Albert Talabi has thrown his full weight behind the new tax reform signed into law by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.


Talabi showed his support for the new tax law at an enlightenment programme anchored Mrs Funbi Adebayo of Ekiti state Internal Revenue Service for the staff of Bureau of Special Project on the tax reform. The event took place on Monday, 12th January, 2026 at the Bureau of Special project newly renovated multi purpose hall, within the premises of Ministry of Works, Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti state.

The Governor’s aide who declared the event open stated in his brief remarks that the purpose of organizing the enlightenment programme was to ensure that they were properly informed about the good advantages of the new tax law and to correct the wrong impression given by some people on social media on the new tax reforms.

He furthered that Nigerians should embrace the new tax reforms because it is designed to reduce unnecessary burden on low-income earners and small businesses while improving government revenue for national development.

Hon. Talabi commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for ensuring that this reform comes into reality noting that it is a brilliant idea that Nigerians will be more appreciated of.

He also lauded the state Governor, His Excellency, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji for toeing the good step of President Tinubu with the recent signing into law of the Ekiti State Revenue Administration Law, 2025, making Ekiti the first Nigerian state to adopt the national tax reforms administration.

The Governor’s aide called on the people of Ekiti state to give more support to the administration of Governor Biodun Oyebanji.
