The Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji has lauded the immediate past administration of Dr John Kayode Fayemi on grassroot development.
Governor Oyebanji who was represented by the Secretary to the Ekiti State government, SSG, Dr Habibat Omolara Adubiaro disclosed this during the first year anniversary celebration of the present leadership of Ado-Ekiti Local Government Council.
The SSG stated further that most of the projects in the local government/ Local Council Development Areas, LCDAs, were initiated by the past administration led by Dr. John Kayode Fayemi.
Dr Adubiaro appreciated the administration of former governor Fayemi for his support towards effective administration at the local government level, while also congratulating the Chairman of the Local Government, Hon. Bosun Osaloni and his team for a remarkable first year in office coupled with the inauguration of projects completed by his regime despite limited resources of the state government.
The SSG who described the local government council as the third tier of government that is much closer to the people and responsible for bringing the dividends of democracy closer to the grassroots noted that through such feat the management of the council has showcased its commitment to meeting the needs and aspirations of the people.
Adubiaro stressed the need for every local government area and Local Council Development Areas in the State to look inward and spring up meaningful projects that would help improve the standard of living of the people in their immediate environment.
“I wish to implore the leaders of this local government to keep up the good work and to continuously be innovative in your capacity as leaders, because you cannot afford to rest on your previous achievements on an ever-changing world. I promise that the state government as well as your people would regularly be on the lookout for more laudable projects to be undertaken by you and your administration in this local government,she advised”
Also the former Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, Chief Bisi Egbeyemi thanked the local government boss and his team for the level of laudable projects they put in place within a year of being in the saddle.
“Am so proud to be part of the event and that Hon. Bosun Osaloni has made Ado -Ekiti indigenes proud for this great projects”
