Ekiti First Lady Urges Political Office Holders to Imbibe Culture of Service, Giving

Wife of Ekiti State Governor, Dr Olayemi Oyebanji has called on political office holders to imbibe the culture of giving back to the society especially during the yuletide.

In a statement signed by her Media Assistant, Raheem Akingbolu, the governor’s wife stated this on Tuesday during an Empowerment program and project commissioning tour at Ekiti South East Local Development Area, Ekiti South Senatorial District.

The Governor’s Wife enjoined political appointees to always ensure they prioritize the welfare of the electorate and provide them the dividends of democracy.

The First Lady lauded the Ekiti South East LCDA chairman, Hon. Anthonia Alaba Omonusi, while calling on other female political office holders, to emulate her impactful leadership style.

She Congratulated the beneficiaries of the kind gesture from Omonusi, who gave them cash gifts, grinding machines, sewing machines, Generator sets to power an already donated borehole in the community, 45 gas cylinders and Knapsack sprays.

The Governor’s wife therefore urged them to make judicious use of the cash and materials.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mrs Akerele Opeyemi and Mrs Owolabi Yemi appreciated the Chairperson of the LCDA, and the government of Mr Biodun Oyebanji, praying that God would grant them a successful tenure.

The first Lady commissioned some projects including a 24 lockup shops and 24 open stalls at Ilasa and Omuooke-Ekiti and performed the Foundation laying of Basic Health Center at Ikun-Oba Ekiti as well as perimeter fencing of an Abattoir at Omuooke-Ekiti.
