Ekiti Council of Traditional Rulers has sent its congratulatory messages to the new President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR on his installation as the fifth democratically elected president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in the fourth Republic.
The Council in a message issued by the Chairman of the Council, HRM Ọba Gabriel Ayodele Adejuwon, CFR, FCTI rejoiced with the President and the Vice President Sen. Ibrahim Shettima on the occasion of their swearing in to power on Monday.
The statement also congratulates “all Nigerians for being witnesses to history even as the nation’s democracy continues to mature as seen in the seamless transition of power from one administration to another. “
The Council advised the “president to serve diligently and to uphold his oath of office. We also call on the new administration to focus on improving the security situation of the country and to promote policies that can lead to massive job creation.”
The statement further calls on “all Nigerians to join hands with the new administration to foster national unity, cohesion and peace
“It further calls on the new government “to indeed restore the hope of Nigerians in the possibility of a prosperous nation”
Meanwhile, the Council also extends its “best wishes to the immediate past President and the Vice President and congratulates them for a successful tenure of office.
Ọba Adejuwon also expresses the best wishes of the Council to all the Governors and their deputies who were similarly inaugurated today.
