The Gbonyi Local Council Development Area,LCDA, Aisegba-Ekiti, Ekiti State, has empowered the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps,NSCDC,Police Force, Odua People’s Congress, OPC, and the Amotekun Security Corps, with logistics to enhance security operations in the area.
The Chairman of the council, Hon. Damilare Ajayi at the inauguration of Gbonyin LCDA security architectural network, said the initiative is aimed at tackling kidnapping, robbery, farmers/herders clashes and other crimes and criminalities that have continued to thrive in his jurisdiction.
Items presented to the security include ten tyres,five motorcycles,one vehicle battery and other equipment. The council boss anchored the gesture on the importance of corporate social responsibility which the council is obligated to its various publics.
“Today, we are inaugurating the Gbonyin Security Architectural Network necessitated by the extraordinary security challenges being witnessed across the nation, Ekiti State inclusive.
“For a long while, crimes such as kidnapping, ethnic cleaning, robberies, farmers/herders clashes, ritual killings and so on have been on an upward spiral and our government therefore needs to be proactive to nip them in the bud
The Onijan of Ijan-Ekiti, Oba Adebanji Aladesuyi appealed to his subjects in the council to embrace peace, and urged the beneficiaries to use the equipment for the right purpose.
Dignitaries include Ajagun of Ilumoba, Oba Jimoh Adetiba Olugbenga represented by High Chief Ademuagun of the Opoto of ilumoba; Apalufin of Aisegba, Oba Solomon omotoyinbo represented by Alasura of Aisegba, as well as others.
