In a significant move to promote technical education, tackle youth unemployment and promote economic development, the Honourable Commissioner for Trade and Industry, Mrs. Omotayo Adeola, has distributed free admission forms into Government Technical Colleges to all 13 APC wards in Ado Ekiti.
This marks a strategic effort by the Gov. Oyebanji led administration to enhance vocational training and skill acquisition among young people.
This initiative is expected to provide students with the necessary technical skills to thrive in various industries, thereby reducing unemployment and fostering economic development in the State.
Mrs. Adeola reiterated the importance of technical education in today’s economy. “Our goal is to equip our youth with practical skills that will make them self-reliant and capable of contributing meaningfully to the state’s economic growth,” she stated. “This initiative is part of our broader strategy to invest in human capital development which is an important pillar of Mr. Governor’s administration and ensure that no one is left behind.”
As the forms are distributed, students and parents are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to enroll in the Government Technical Colleges, which offer courses in various technical fields, including electrical engineering, carpentry, and plumbing.
Responding to this laudable gesture, the APC ADO Chairman, Hon. Micheal Akinleye, commended the efforts of the State Commissioner stressing the need for Ado Ekiti youths to embrace technical and vocational in order to develop themselves, provide jobs for themselves and sustain themselves.
