Ekiti Assembly Reaffirms Dedication To Fulfilling Constitutional Obligations

Ekiti State House of Assembly has reaffirmed its dedication to fulfilling its constitutional obligations and commitment to creating synergy with the executive arm to ensure a seamless working relationship.

The Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon Adeoye Aribasoye in his remarks, stated this during the House plenary on Wednesday to conclude the final batch of the screening exercise for commissioner nominees sent to the lawmakers by the executive governor of the state.

The nominees screened were a former Deputy Speaker during the 2nd Assembly, Rt.Hon. Taiwo Olatunbosun; immediate former commissioner for works, Mr. Adesola Adebayo and a former Local Government, Mr. Oluwafemi Awe.

The House having painstakingly scrutinised the nominees, expressed satisfaction with the presentations, qualifications and the abilities of the three nominees, however concluded that the legislators would further go into due diligence for final confirmation of their nomination.

Rt.Hon. Aribasoye charged the nominees to always be ready to give account of their stewardship to the people of Ekiti through the House of Assembly members who are their elected representative if they are eventually confirmed.

He also commended his colleagues and the bureaucracy of the legislature for their commitment and efforts towards ensuring the successful completion of the screening exercise.

It will be recalled that the Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Biodun Oyebanji sent the names of twenty one commissioner nominees to the House for screening and confirmation as members of the State Executive Council.
