Ekiti Assembly Poll: Contestants Express Optimism For Victory

A candidate of the All Progressives Congress,APC,for Efon Constituency One, in the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Bose Olowookere believes that a good politician should endear himself/herself to the grassroots. She said this is an attribute she imbibed which informed the decision of her constituent to come out en-mass to vote for her during the State House of Assembly election.

Speaking to journalists after casting her ballot at unit 03,ward 004, Owode, Efon Alaaye,Olowookere posited that her victory after the poll and membership of the legislative body will impact positively on her people because she will ensure that they enjoy diviends of good governance.” I will use my position to fight unemployment, poor health facilities,infrastructural decay and other challenges that affect the living standard of the people by bringing them to the attention of the government”.

“I am well known among my people and the love they have for me made them to vote for me. I believe,I will be victorious”.

She said by God’s grace, she emerges as a member of the House, her legislative concerns will go beyond her constituent to equally put smiles on the faces of other members of the society as the election should be seen as a call to service. The APC candidate remarked that the turn out in her polling unit was impressive and the voting was peaceful. According to her,”except in some other places where there were reports of minor skirmishes”.

Another member of the Ekiti State House of Assembly for Ekiti West Constituency One,Hon. Kareem Agubiade said the turnout of voters was not impressive but the exercise of their franchise was without hitches.

Agubiade who voted at unit 2,ward12, opposite finance office,Aramoko-Ekiti, said as early as possible INEC officials arrived and voting began as the electorate conducted themselves orderly.
