Ekiti State House of Assembly has congratulated Ekiti people in commemoration of the 62nd independence anniversary of the country and 26th anniversary of the State creation.
In a statement issued in Ado Ekiti by the House Chairman on Media and Publicity, Hon Yemisi Ayokunle, the Assembly implored Ekiti people to keep hope alive as efforts geared at returning the country to its rightful place are yielding positively.
The statement thanked the founding leaders of Ekiti and those saddled with the responsibility of leading the state in the last 26 years, stressing that history would have appropriate places for them for future reference.
The statement specifically make reference to the last four years of the Dr Kayode Fayemi administration where significant improvement were recorded in the areas of infrastructures, education, food production, economy among others.
On the part of the Assembly, the lawmakers have been part of this chequered history and our contributions especially too in the last four years are well documented, the statement noted.
“We thank God for our country and, particularly, our state. We shall continue to strive to make this place that God has given us a better place to habitate” the statement added.
It also called on Ekiti people to keep praying for the outgoing Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, and the incoming governor, Hon Abiodun Oyebanji and their families for God guidance as they strive to improve the lot of our dear state so that the dream of good governance we had will not be short-lived.
