Ekiti Assembly commiserates with Judiciary arm on the death of late Chief Judge Oyewole Adeyeye

The Ekiti State House of Assembly through the Chairman House Committee on Judiciary and legal matters has expressed its deepest sympathy to the Judiciary arm of government on the death of a legal icon, Chief Judge Oyewole Adeyeye who bade the world farewell after a brief illness on Monday 4th November, 2024.

A statement by the Chairman House Committee on Judiciary and legal matters, Hon.Babatunde Oke who led other members of the committee to the office of the Acting Chief Judge Olalekan Ogunmoye says the condolence visit was imperative for the Committee to commiserate with the Acting Chief Judge and the Judiciary staff at this murning time. He extolled the virtues of the late Chief Judge Oyewole Adeyeye as a man of honour who contributed greatly to the legal profession in both private life and as well in the public service sector.

The Chairman House Committee on Judiciary and legal matters, Hon. Oke said the Legislative arm, particularly the Seventh Assembly members were griefed by the incident and conveyed the condolence messages of the Speaker, Rt Hon Adeoye Aribasoye and other lawmakers to the Acting Chief Judge.

He described late Chief Judge Oyewole Adeyeye as a man of honour who always played the game according to the rule adding that he would be sorely missed not only in the Ekiti judiciary but in the legal parlance, he prayed that such occurrence would not happen in the state again.

In his response, the acting Chief Judge, Olalekan Ogunmoye appreciated the Chairman and the Committee members for the condolence visit, he emphasized on the relationship between the three arms of government in the state as cordial and as well called for more synergy between the arms.

He said his emergence as Acting Chief Judge of the state was unimaginable at the point in time noting that his predecessor has put in the best to the Judicial services not only in Ekiti State and also in Nigeria within his short time as Chief Judge.

He described his predecessor, late Chief Judge Oyewole Adeyeye as man of honour who happened to be his mentor, close ally, confidant and kinsman from Omuo Ekiti and equally used the occasion to intimate the lawmakers on the lined up activities for the burial of the late Chief Judge Oyewole Adeyeye, he therefore, promised to build on the good legacies that was laid by the deceased.
