As another gubernatorial election is gradually approaching in Ekiti state, a frontline political support group known as BAO Agenda 2026 has implored intending aspirants in All Progressives Congress(APC) People’s Democratic Party(PDP) and other political parties not to waste their time and resources in contesting 2026 governorship election with the incumbent Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji.
The group made this known in a statement which was jointly signed by the State Coordinator, Hon. Moshood Lawal Bamaiyi, Ms Yewande Aribasoye, Public Relations Officer and the Secretary-General, Chief Olufemi Aduloju OJA1 after leadership caucus Meeting at the group Situation office in Ado Ekiti today
The group in its statement furthered that the people of Ekiti have already made up their mind to return the incumbent Governor for another term in office, adding that any attempt by intending aspirant within or outside the ruling party to slug it out with Governor Oyebanji would amount to effort in futility.
“As for 2026 governorship in Ekiti, any aspirant nursing the ambition of taking over the mantle of leadership from the incumbent governor should back down. They should not waste their time and resources.
“The people of Ekiti have already pinched their tent with the incumbent governor for another term in office because they were impressed with his laudable performance in office” the group said.
BAO Agenda 2026 advised intending governorship aspirants to divert their time and resources in establishing industries that is capable of providing jobs for the people and also to use it to help those around them.
“It is not by being in a leadership position that someone can impact people’s life or contribute to the economic growth of the state but with the resources you have, many lives can be impacted positively. So intending aspirants can divert the time and resources they want to use for electoral contest for something that can be of benefit to the state and its people” the group stated
