Ekiti 2022: ‘My Choice As a Preferred Aspirant Is A Challenge’ Says Oyebanji

The All Progressives Congress governorship aspirant and former SSG of Ekiti state, Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji has made it known to the people of Ekiti state that his choice as a preferred aspirant is a challenge and test run towards the actualisation of a homegrown politician to take over the mantle of leadership in the state.

He said this during his consultation tour to Efon-Alaaye, Irepodun/Ifelodun and Ekiti Southwest local governments this afternoon.

Oyebanji said if given the support as a homegrown politician to emerge as the next governor come 2022, it would send a strong and positive message that other homegrown politicians too can attain higher positions in Ekiti state and Nigeria as a whole.

The aspirant stated further that he is well tutored in act of governance and more qualified out of all the aspirants to continue with the good work of the present administration
having been given the opportunity to serve in different capacities under the administrations of H.E, Otunba Niyi Adebayo and H.E, Dr. John Kayode Fayemi.

“Out of those that are contesting, I am the only one that has served two administrations, 11 years out 25 years of the creation of Ekiti state”

He added that, “I used 11 years to learn about governance”

He gave kudos to Dr John Kayode Fayemi for delivering on all his electoral promises.

Mr Oyebanji also stated that he is a party man and progressive to the core and also the first aspirant to formally seek the consent of the party to embark on local government tour and consultation upon his return from Abuja where he went to collect the governorship nomination form to contest the January 22, APC governorship primary.

He sought for the support of party members and leaders at the forthcoming APC governorship primary election and also urged them not to engage in any act of violence with anyone even in face of provocation.

Notable APC party leaders that spoke during the consultation tour to all the three local governments include, Baba Alaba, Abejide, High Chief Jide Awe, former APC state Chairman, Hon. Taiwo Olatunbosun and Hon. Dapo Karounwi.

They extolled the sterling qualities of Mr. Oyebanji that gives him the edge over other aspirants as the preferred candidate to succeed Governor Fayemi come 2022.

They urged the people to give the aspirant all the full support to emerge victorious at the forthcoming APC governorship primary come January 22.

The climax of today’s consultation was the endorsement of Mr Oyebanji as the preferred governorship candidates by party members and leaders in Efon-Alaaye, Irepodun/Ifelodun and Ekiti Southwest local governments. Also at Ilawe-Ekiti, he was presented with a gift.

In all the local governments visited, the governorship aspirant was warmly received by party members and leaders.

In the entourage of the governorship aspirant are, Chief Jide Awe, Baba Abejide, Hon. Ijidale, Dr(Mrs) Habibat Omolara Adubiaro (PhD), Mrs Oluremi Babinton, Chief Kayode Fasae, Mrs Funke Owolabi, Chief Peter Maiyegun Adekunle, Hon. Tade Aluko, Mr Fatai Bello, Hon. Adunmo Galaxy, Prince Wole Ajakaiye, Hon. Dapo Karounwi, Hon. Taiwo Olatunbosun, Hon. Agbeyo.

Also present during the visitations are, Hon. Babatola Ogundana, Hon. Shina Ogunleye, Hon. Femi Aluko, Hon.
Ayokunle(MHA), Mrs Margaret Fagboyo, Mr Dele Owoju and other party leaders.
