The Publicity Secretary of All Progressives Congress, (APC) in Ekiti state, Hon. Ade Ajayi has described the membership revalidation exercise embarked upon by the party as an opportunity for members to further confirm their identity with the party.
Ajayi pointed out that the principle of equality of members has been one of the hallmarks of APC especially in Ekiti state.
Apparently reacting to a statement credited to a presidential aide, Babafemi Ojudu that there would be no room for ‘house boy’ to succeed Governor Kayode Fayemi, in 2022, the APC spokesman maintained that there’s no ‘house boy’ politician in Ekiti state except the former Senator whose stock-in-trade is to kowtow to people with resources from whom he can always glean some crumbs from their tables.
In a statement in Ado Ekiti on Sunday, Ajayi sympathized with the presidential aide over his statement which he said was borne out his(Ojudu)’s “houseboy mentality” which has always been his hallmark in politics.
“Recently, in his bid to de-market our Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, he shoved his foot in his mouth by pushing out a horrible narrative on how he socialized with Chief Sunday Adeyemo, aka Sunday Igboho on the instructions of a political personality to dissuade him from supporting the party’s opponents. The attempt blew up in his face and he went into hibernation only for him to emerge on Friday with another toxic narrative that will surely bring another round of ignominy to his already battered image.
” Unlike Ojudu and his fellow political vagabonds, members of APC in Ekiti state believe in equality among all, there has always been a level plain ground for members to operate.
“Sharing of positions has always been done in a democratic way such that even those joining the party afresh are accorded the same opportunity with others.
“Such a statement can only come from someone that has been out of tune with happenings at home or rather a member that always make attempts to make himself relevant each time an election is drawing near.”
The Publicity Scribe assured members of the party not to be dissuaded by any form of rhetorics coming “from a perceived leader that has perpetually distanced himself from his folks in his homestead”.
