Muslim Media Practitioners of Nigeria (MMPN),Ekiti State chapter has felicitated with Muslims on the occasion of Eid-el Fitri celebration which marks the end of 30 days mandatory Ramadan fast.
The Islamic media group,in statement issued in Ado-Ekiti by Alhaji Yaqoub Popoola and Alhaji Qosim Oladspo , Chairman and Secretary respectively thanked Allah(SWT) for seeing us through the blessed month which is one of the pillars of Islam .
The group ,therefore urged Muslims to draw lessons from the sacrifice, self-restraint, humility ,charity and love which Ramadan entails to guide them in their day-day activities after the celebrations.
Muslims,according to MMPN must see themselves as ambassadors of peace wherever they found themselves and show love to their neighbours at all times.
The MMPN also rejoined Muslims to use the spiritual occasion to pray for God’s intervention in tackling the security and economic challenges weighing the country down.
It frowned at the poor treatments meted out to Muslims in politics and the and the attendant marginalisation by successive administrations in both elective and appointve positions in Ekiti.
” We are using this medium to rejoice with our members and Muslims all over the world on the successful completion of Ramadan .While we thank Allah( SWT) for counting us amongst privileged ones who witness the day, we also want to admonish muslims not to allow the fear of God,sacrifice and humility depart during and after the celebrations.
” We also call on Muslims and indeed Ekiti people to pray for peace ,as the state and country prepare for a full blown political activities. Muslims should exercise their franchise during the electioneering.We must be reduced to Spectators in the Nigerian project.” the group admonished.
