Pastor W.F. Kumuyi, the General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry spoke to his members about why they should not be deceived by people who claim that they got revelations about heaven.
He said, “Stop running after revelations and visions. Let the word of God be sufficient for you. You cannot vouch for anyone who said she died and went to heaven, how sure are you of the person’s way of life, how sure are you that her account is true?
Even the rich man who asked that someone be sent from heaven to warn his family members of hell fire was not obliged. Father Abraham said they have preachers to listen to”.
Speaking further, he said, “All these evil spirits that are travelling here and there saying that they died and saw those revelations. How do you know that they actually died?
Have you seen them? Do you know their lives and the men they are following about? What did you know that they are doing themselves? Be very careful.
The word of God is sufficient for us. We don’t need the recommendation of anyone saying that he saw someone in heaven and Jesus told them to come and tell us that we should dress some way.
You will not follow the devil. You will not follow evil spirits. You will follow the word of God in Jesus’ name.”
Finally, he said that you are wasting your money if you are buying CD’S, tapes and audios of people who claim they saw heaven and then read the book of Romans 10:17 which says, “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
He said that faith in God does not come by their revelations but by the word of God. Instead of running after these false revelations, focus on the word of God. May God give us an understanding of his word in Jesus’ name.
