Deep Information About The New Ekiti Head of Service, Agbede

The new Head of service of Ekiti, Bamidele Olugbenga Agbede, an administrative wizard was born in March 27th, 1965.

Barr. Agbede, an apostle of loyalty and hardwork hails from Ikole local government of Ekiti State. He is a christian by religion and married with lovely children.

The new Ekiti Head of Service is known to  be an administrator who always strives for excellence and seeks constant  self-development in order to remain relevant in the society and help actualize the goals and objectives of any organization in which he finds himself.

This brilliant and intelligent man attended the Nigerian Law School, Lagos between 2005 to 2006 after graduating from the University of Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State in 2001 with an LLB Hons in Law.

Agbede also attended the former Ondo State University, Ado-Ekiti, OSUA, now Ekiti State University, between 1983 to 1987 graduating with BA Hons in History.

He schooled in Akure, Ondo State between 1982  to 1983 and also went to Ansar-udeen High School, Ire-Ekiti between the year 1976 to 1981.

He also attended St. Paul’s Anglican Primary. School, Osi-Ekiti between 1970 to 1976 where he got his Primary School Leaving Certificate.

Agbede held the positions of the Permanent Secretary, Political and Economic Affairs , December, 2012 to October, 2014; Government House and Protocol , October, 2014 to October, 2017.

He also served as Executive Secretary, Ekiti  State Independent Electoral Commission, EKSIEC, from August 2007 to  December 2012; Independent National Electoral Commission, Lagos State; Chief Administrative Officer , August 2004 August 2007, Ekiti State Government, Ekiti State Independent Electoral Commission; Executive Secretary from August 2000 to August 2004 (on secondment to set up the commission for Ekiti State).

Also Independent National Electoral Commission, Ekiti State as Principal Logistics Officer, HOD Logistics Department between July 1996 to 2000; Independent National Electoral Commission, Ondo State as Electoral.

Officer in 1992 to 1996, Assistant Electoral Office 1991 – 1992, Personnel Officer, 1988 – 1991. He did his one year Nation fatherland at the St. Peter’s Grammar  School, Agenegbode, Edo State as Youth Corp member between 1987 to 1988.

Agbede also attended several Courses and Trainings among which included:  International Foundation on Election Studies (IFES), training programme for Senior Electoral Managers on election administration; International Foundation  on Election Studies (IFES).

He also attended training programme on Computer Appreciation–ms-word & ms-excel., D.F.I.D sponsored workshop on conduct of election in Ekiti State  (the organizer/facilitator); International Foundation on Electoral Studies (IFES), orientation course for state Chairman and Commissioners in October,  2011.

He also attended various in-house trainings/seminars organized by INEC from 1988 till 2007. and Membership of ad-hoc committee Secretary, Ekiti State. Transitions Committee, October, 2014. Member, Committee on Creation of Local  Government In Ekiti State – 2014.

He was representative of Ekiti State in the  transparency scooping survey of selected states in Nigeria, organized by

Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI) participated in the monitoring of elections conducted by INEC in Edo State, Ondo State and  Anambra state under the UNDP supervision.

He was Member, College of Education Governing  Council, Ikere-Ekiti (2013-2014)observer, College of Health, Science and Technology Council, Ijero-Ekiti(2013-2014)member, Committee on the Review of Federal Allocation Formula, Ekiti State.

He was also a member, Committee on Appointments of  provost and registrar of College of Health, Science and Technology,  Ijero-ekiti Pioneer Secretary that established the State Independent Electoral Commission for Ekiti State.

Agbede, having served the four executive governors in Ekiti State. He was twice appointed as Executive Secretary of Ekiti State Independent Electoral Commission and twice midwife the conduct of  elections at the grassroot level (Local Government).

He was a member, Committee on Ekiti State at 15 and Nigeria at 51 anniversary Chairman, Committee on Ilera l’aafin phase i & ii (provision of health services for the elderly and the royal fathers).

Agbede was also member, Committee on 2nd and 3rd year anniversary of governor Fayemi’s administration, and was Chairman, Ekiti State Burial Committee of late Prof. j. Ade Ajayi.

Member of Board, Ekiti State Community and Social  Development Agency EKCSDA 2018 till date, and member, Committee on Implementation of Ekiti State Airport Project. Chairman, Committee on Verification of Professional Certificate of accountant cadre in the Civil Service.

He also got an award of excellence from Lagos State government on the successful  conduct of 2007 gubernatorial election in Lagos State.

Membership of professional body fellow Institute of Public Administration of  Nigeria. member, Nigeria Bar Association, (NBA) Ikere Branch, Ekiti State.

Talking about his hobbies: Barr. Agbede loves and plays soccer and table tennis. He also enjoys reading a lot.

Well respected and loved by workers in the state, this highly cerebral, young and dynamic Head of service will officially resume office today after the swearing in ceremony.

The Governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi will swear him in today, Monday, July 4, 2022.

The event will hold at the Conference Hall, Governor’s Office, Ado- Ekiti by 11.00am.
