CULTURE & TRADITION:When Oore Celebrates Atapo Festival

Heritagenewsng reports that in a bubbling mood, Oore’s Palace was full to the brim yesterday Tuesday 3rd August, 2021, as His Royal Majesty, Oloore Oduduwa, Adimula t’Ile Moba, Oba Adekunle Adekunle Adeagbo, Ilufemiloye 1, Oore of Otun Ekiti has celebrated the grand finale of Three-in- One “Odun Ijesu” (New Yam) Festival.

The glamorous ceremony had a touch of the Inermost Chamber where critical matters do take place and where he communes with his Progenitors before he kickstarts.

Oore Went Half naked here praying to goods.

According to tradition, the celebration necessitates half-nakedness of Adimula Oore, symbolizing his wellbeing and, specifically, offering prayer for the prosperity of the land and all that are connected to her, as of old.

In the ancient days, peradventure, Oore looked a bit lean, the Community would do the needful by way of sending in various food items and drinks to eat and entertain visitors.

Atapo Olomo has its peculiar characteristics like song (Atapo Olomo……..), half-nakedness of Oore, touch of Inermost Chamber, Oore dances to “Otun Kekun” ground, wrap-up of the three festivals, amongst others.
