Unending crisis has rocked Ekiti state chapter of the People’s Democratic Party as the State Executive Council of the party appointed a former local government chairman and former 2018 Deputy governorship candidate of the party, Hon. Deji Ogunsakin as substantive Chairman hours after the rejection of Engr. Alaba Agboola as the party’s chairman.
The State Publicity Secretary in a statement to journalists after the SEC meeting said, “The appointment is in line with section 47(6) of the party constitution”
He also added that the ratification by SEC of the appointment Ogunsakin as the substantive State Chairman of PDP in Ekiti state was sequel to the nomination by 10 out of 12 members of SEC from Central Senatorial District.
Recall that in the morning, Engr. Alaba Agboola was appointed as Chairman of the party amidst heavy presence of security agents by a faction loyal former Governor Fayose which was later rejected by party’s SEC.
