A famous South American Country, Brazil has Sought the intervention of , the Yoruba God of creation, Obatala for reparation and protection over the new variant of COVID-19. The ‘’Ajakale Arun’ COVID-19 which has has killed over 200.000 Brazilians in the past 12 months .
Adeyinka Olaiya, Brazil based Nigerian Carnival Artist , Painter and writer who also was present at the event which was organized to appease the yoruba, African gods of creation said “ Brazil is the Africa out of Africa , the Yoruba religious traditions are observed from time to time in Brazil.
He said this has helped the nation to overcome difficult moments. He added that Sacrifices (Ebos) are offered to the Yoruba gods from time to time .
Adeyinka revealed further that Ifa priests are at work since seven days now , they are confident they will get positive results very soon.
He however advised Nigerians to continue promoting the values our culture , tradition and religion adding that the international community is expecting more from the Yorubas who are the original owners of this tradition.
During a national plead on the Brazilian Television (GloboNews) on the 10th of January where a documentary on Obatala produced and directed by Gilberto Gil and Flora Gil was aired , the spiritual leader of the Brazilian Yoruba traditionalist , Iyanifa Mae Carmen appealed to all the Brazilian traditionalists to appease the god of creation for reparation at this very difficult moment the nation is undergoing
“ it is time to beg our ancestors , this COVID is beyond what only science can curb, we need to appease our gods , they are annoyed with this sinful world . Obatala is our father of creation , he was present at the beginning , he cares for the weak , he will care for Brazil at this difficult moment “ she said while attending to the national association of the Brazilian traditional worshippers.
Orisa Obatala in the Yoruba traditional beliefs is the father of creation , the god of the white clothes who was present at the beginning of creation , he was the very first creation of Olodumare, who later made him the molder of life , the father of creation.
The Brazilian traditionalist observes the importance of Obatala for care and reparations in every of their worships
According to the recent National religious statistics in Brazil, practically all the Brazilian musicians, celebrities are worshippers of the Yoruba gods , they are frequenters of the Yoruba shrines called CANDOMBLÉS or UMBANDAS In Brazil .
The Brazilian entertainment personalities present at the occasion held in the state of Bahia and with the participation of several world traditionalists includes Marcia Short, Magareth Menezes, Mãe Carmen ,GIlberto Gil,Ivete Sangalo Terreiro Gentios,Vovó Cici,Mãe menininha de Gantois , Zeca Pagodinho,,Carlinhos Brown, Daniela Mercury,Alcione Dias Nazareth.
