Aftermath the video that went viral on the social media space where some Politicians were seen taking the oath of voice through the use of Traditional means, a renowned traditionalist, Osun Priestess in Ado Ekiti, Iyaosun Osunlola Aina Adeseye, has advocated for use of Ogun, Sango, and other very powerful traditional means for swearing in of future political appointees.
Priestess Aina who disclosed this during an interview at her Ado Ekiti residence said if backstabbing, stealing and betrayals will come to an end in Nigeria politics then it is sacrosanct that Politicians when taking the oath of office should do it the traditional way.
According to her, the recent video of some Politicians swearing to the oath of office with Ogun the god of iron and Sango the god of thunder is a welcome development.
” Contrary to what some people are saying because of that video, I stand to say it is the right thing to do if we are to get the very best of our Politicians nowadays.
The Bible and the Quran being used previously has not yielded any positive results, these people have been stealing and committing other fraudulent act while in office even after swearing with the Bible and the Quran”.
She maintained that the gods of the land will be invoked should they fail to perform creditably well since that is what they swore with when taking the oath of office.
Priestess Aina maintained that it will be very difficult for those people seen in the video to either betray the people that entrusts them into that office since they are aware of consequences.
” If we want to end corruption in this country let them come and swear with the gods of the land and make promises before those Dieties who are no nonsense gods and will surely strike any one of the who ran foul of the agreement.
” I see them most times swearing with the Bible and the Quran and yet they will steal with confidence and nothing will happen or how many of them has faced the consequences of their corruption.
Priestess Aina other Political office holders should follow suit if truly they are ready to serve the people.
” If they are truly ready to be honest and truthful let them come and swear by these gods, since they are Yoruba people I don’t think they should be scared of any repercussions unless they have treated the people unfairly” she concluded.
