Senior Special Assistant, (SSA) To Ekiti State Governor On Tourism, Development, and the Award winning Tourism Ambassador, Wale Ojo Lanre in promoting the Cultural Heritage of Ekiti.
When Ekiti state Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, initially appointed the Usi-Ekiti born International journalist Ambassador Ojo-Lanre, the Director-General of Ekiti State Council For Arts and Culture, many achievements were recorded on his name, an exceptional promoter of Arts and Culture who has become an Icon in the tourism industry
First, Ojo Lanre revived the moribund Council, boosted the morale of the staff, which later translated to the conversion of the Council to the Ministry of Arts, Culture and Tourism.
While holding sway as the Director-General of the Council, Ojo-Lanre initiated several developmental and sensitization programmes that enhanced the promotion of Arts and Culture in the state as well as the participation of the state’s cultural troupe in Arts and Cultural Festival at home and abroad.
It was during his tenure that the annual Ekiti State Cultural Festival (EKIFEST), was revived. The 2019 edition of the EKIFEST, was adjudged as one of the best events in the second coming of Governor Fayemi.
Ojo-Lanre, a journalist by profession, was an Associate Editor, Nigerian Tribune on Tourism, Travel and Hospitality.
Award-winning tourism journalist and a first-class tourism, travel and hospitality writer, holds a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) in History from Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo State, a Masters degree in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution from the Premier University of Ibadan and LLB (Bachelor of Laws) from Lead City University, Ibadan.
Diploma in Journalism, Centre for Foreign Journalists, Reston US. Diploma in Green Growth and Travelism, Hasselt University, Belgium
Two terms Chairman , Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ Oyo State , the first to be elected unopposed for a 2nd term in the history of that Union in Oyo State.
Former Chief Press Secretary to former Gov Segun Oni in Ekiti.
Goodwill Tourism Ambassador for Republic of Cote D’ivore and Republic of Indonesia in Nigeria.
Country Team Leader and Chief Coordinator, Federation of World Culture and Arts Society , FOWCAAS , Singapore in Nigeria.
Recipient of Federal Government of Nigeria Award for his contributions to the development of Tourism in Nigeria.
He has the record of having travelled to 68 countries of the world.
He has since been using his wealth of experience and expertise in tourism to contribute to the actualization of Fayemi’s dream on tourism as an economic tool for the development of the state across Nigeria, and all over the world.
