Ekiti State House of Assembly has passed the 2022 budget proposal submitted to it by the state Governor two months ago.
The Appropriation bill, christened Budget of Legacy and Consolidation has over 60 billion as recurrent expenditure while capital expenditure would gulp over 40 billion naira.
The passage of the 2022 appropriation bill was sequel to the submission and adoption of the report of the chairman House Committee on Finance and Appropriation, who is the lawmaker representing Emure constituency, Hon. Olubunmi Adelugba.
Hon. Adelugba while addressing fellow lawmakers said her committee had worked relentlessly on the bill considering it’s importance to Ekiti People.
She explained prominent Ekiti people were consulted prior to its passage having gone through scrutiny.
The lawmaker thereafter recommended the proposal for the approval of the house.
After the submission of her report, the house adopted the report and committed it to the Committee of the whole house for ratification.
The House has since adjourned till further notice.
