The House of Representatives has voted overwhelmingly in support of the declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State.
This followed a letter from President Bola Tinubu asking the House of Representatives to approve his declaration of a state of emergency in the South-South state.
The House voted in support of the declaration during a plenary session on Thursday.
According to the Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbass, 243 lawmakers attended the session, meaning there was a quorum.
