There is an ongoing protest in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital by students of Ekiti State University(EKSU).
Our campus correspondent gathered that the students were demanding review of late registration fee imposed on them by the school authority.
Heritagenewsng.com reports that the visible angry students were seen caring placards bearing different inscriptions such as, “late registration should be for a student whose school fees is 20k, 30k Not for student whose school is 200k”. The school gate was shut down preventing both lecturers and students to gain entrance into the school premises.
Findings by our correspondent has it that the students were totally against the 5000 naira late registration fee imposed on them describing it as unbearable in face of hike in their school fees. This protest coming just week to their exam.
The protesting students were waiting for the Vice Chancellor to address them as at the time of filling this report.
