Heritagenewsng reports that a DP top shot, Senator Joy Emordi who is also a member Board of Trustees (BOT) has defected the ruling All Progressives Congress.
This is coming barely 24 hours after seven members of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP resigned from the opposition party.
Senator Emordi was formally received by the Chairman APC Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC), Governor Mai Mala Buni, in Abuja on Wednesday.
According to a statement by the Director-General, Press, and Media Affairs to the Chairman, Malam Mamman Mohammed, the defector was quoted to have said that she joined the APC because she was convinced the future of a prosperous and united Nigeria lies in the ruling party.
Senator Emordi further described the APC leadership as sincerely and
genuinely committed to a united Nigeria with plans for the future generation.
“The APC-led federal government is working for the South East and this is attracting more PDP members into APC,” she said.
