Brazil’s Reaction To Oluwo of Iwo

Brazil traditionalists and Aborisas has reacted to the claims of Oba Abdulrasheed Olawale Akanbi, the Oluwo of Iwo and his constant demeaning of the Yoruba traditional religion , the Babalawos , Aborishas.Ogbonis  this weekend responded furiously to his claims that Orisha worship is insignificant and alien to Kingship in Yoruba land.

The Aborishas In Brazil responded to the Yoruba monarch that the Crown , contrary to his claims, belongs to the Orishas, they ask him to refrain from distorting the history of the Yoruba race.

In a statement issued by the Yoruba traditionalists in Brazil, Ifa Priest Adegboyega Nojeem , aka Omo Odo Agba , said that Orishas are enough to defend themselves, he said the spirits of the Yoruba ancestors will surely make justice , he said they will make vengeance to whoever attacks them in due time.

“ You will see what will happen to him at the end. People kept quite because the deities are sufficient enough to defend themselves. He will see their hands at the right time. He removed the Ogun of over 400 years In the palace and threw  it away. “Omode bu iroko, o boju weyin, ki ise ojo ti a ba bu Oluwere ni se iku pani” – Babalawo Nojeem said.

Oba Ogboni Iwashe (World wide) Kabiyesi Adekunle Aderonmu also responded furiously to the claims of the Oluwo of Iwo, he said that Oluwo of Iwo lacks knowledge, he said the monarch is distorting the facts of the Yoruba ancestors.

Oba Adekunle Aderonmu further explained that idols are not Orishas, there are differences between Orisa and idols . According to him , Deity is known as ORISA, as Idol is known as Omolangidi, he explained that Deities have corresponding link with our Existence; while, Idol is an unknown Spiritual figment for certain persons to adore or Worship. Aderonmu urge the Yoruba council of Obas to do something before it gets out of hand “ if Oluwo is not satisfied with the Yoruba religion , he should at least respect and stop demeaning it “ – he said.

Daniel Adebayo Majaro also responded to the claims of Oluwo of Iwo, he condemned the affirmations of the king , he said that the monarch should refrain from distorting history , he said Traditionalists in Brazil are prosperous and are proud of their Orishas.

Majaro made an open invite to the king , he asked him to join the Yorubas in Brazil on a zoom discuss if he is sure of what he is preaching about , he cited the likes of Prof.Wande Abimbola , Araba Ifayemi Elebuibon and all what they represent , and all what they have done to elevate the Yoruba religion “ I have visited his palace in 2019 , I am really not happy with this king “ –  he concluded.

While pointing at the statue of Esu Odara , the Yoruba messenger deity in his Shrine , Brazil traditionalist in Diadema Saopaulo, Baba Olorisa Thiago de T’ de Oya , the spiritual leader of Casa Aruanã dos Ventos de Oya , said he is ready to send Esu  to resolve with the Monarch who dares the significance of Orishas in the Yoruba religion , he said that without Esu. not even monarch will existe , he said all communications to Olodumare involves Esu , he urge the traditionalists in the yoruba land to caution him.

The Babalorisa who also administers one of the biggest and most successful Orisha shrine in Diadema Brazil , had earlier warned his colleagues against the initiation of non traditionalists into the yoruba traditional religion “ they will always disappoint you , Esu Odara will deal with them “ he said.

Also against the claims of the Monarch, Iya Olorisa, Paula de Oya , she said Orishas blessed her , blessed Brazil , blessed all that concerns her . The Iyalorisa demands attitudes from all Olorishas in the Yoruba land “ save our religion before it’s too late “ she concluded.
