Barrister Abraham Olugbenga Ojo and Symbolism of Oyebanji’s Government Face in Diaspora

By Tolu Oni

The significance of credibility in Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s administration, particularly in the selection of cabinet members, is noteworthy. This has earned him numerous accolades within Ekiti State and beyond.

However, further justification for appointing more capable individuals is crucial for the development of Ekiti State. One aspect that requires attention is Diaspora Relations.

Establishing connections with distinguished personalities from Ekiti State residing worldwide is crucial for fostering unity, creating opportunities, and garnering unending support.

Ekiti State is home to a considerable number of people living across the globe, but in the execution of various tasks, there is a need for individuals with tested and trusted capabilities.

This is where I believe Barrister Abraham Olugbenga Ojo, a Legal Icon born in Ilogbo-Ekiti who resides in the United Kingdom, would be an excellent fit for Governor Oyebanji’s appointment as Diaspora Relations.

Ojo, a devoted supporter of Governor Oyebanji and a Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), contested the House of Representatives seat in the last general election.

His unique contributions before, during, and after the election make him an outstanding Ekiti man with refined manners to collaborate with Governor Oyebanji on Diaspora Relations.

Barrister Ojo pursued his education at the University of Westminster, Oxford Street, London, obtaining a Master of Arts (MA) in International Relations and Democratic Politics with an emphasis on geopolitics and complex thinking theories to resolve international political dynamics.

He holds a Postgraduate Law School Certificate, a Master of Law (LLM) with a major in international litigations and commercial disputes, and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB Hons.) from BPP University of Law, London South Bank University.

His tireless efforts included committing resources, including finances, for the emergence of the party’s candidates in the Governorship primary and general elections. He mobilized various support groups within the state for full participation in the inauguration of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji.

Additionally, he financed and inaugurated a political organization known as ArkofBAO in Ido/Osi Local Government Areas for political sensitization and participation at local, ward, and unit levels.

Barrister Ojo also planned and executed grassroots efforts targeting unregistered voters through a political awareness movement known as the ‘Gbenga Ojo Movement’ during the governorship election.

Furthermore, Barrister Ojo offered scholarships to the less privileged within these constituents, including Moba, Ilejemeje, and Ido/Osi Local Government Areas, complementing the state government’s efforts to promote academic excellence.

With his involvement in political movements based on progressive ideologies, Barrister Ojo is uniquely positioned to drive Governor Oyebanji’s administration’s programs and policies to all Ekiti people and their friends in the diaspora.
