Engaging with our community through outreach initiatives is vital for fostering growth and support among our citizens. Such activities not only address immediate needs but also strengthen the bonds between government representatives and the people we serve.

On Monday 9 September, I had the honor of attending the joint meeting of the three NBA Branches in Ekiti State alongside my esteemed colleagues. We engaged in productive discussions regarding pressing issues that impact the legal profession as well as broader national matters.

Additionally, yesterday Tuesday 10 marked a significant outreach initiative by the 7th Assembly. Led by my wife, Mrs. Adenike Aribasoye, the spouses of Assembly members reached out to school children during the 2nd edition of their Back-To-School Initiative.

Approximately 350 school-aged children benefited from the distribution of school bags and other supplies. Furthermore, around 132 farmers across the 26 constituencies, who had previously received agricultural inputs, were also given cash support from the proceeds of the sale of birds raised under the Agricultural Empowerment Program.

The 7th Ekiti State House of Assembly Spouses project initiative encompasses four key components:
1. Education/ICT support
2. Agricultural Empowerment Program
3. Aged and Vulnerable Support Initiative
4. Skill Acquisition (Train to Equip) Project

The next phase of this initiative is scheduled for December 2024. It was truly a fulfilling experience that underscores our commitment to the community.

Rt. Hon. Adeoye Stephen Aribasoye
Speaker, Ekiti State House of Assembly
