Ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC), congresses scheduled to hold across the country on Saturday, party stalwart, Chief Segun Ajibulu has called on leaders to exercise restraint before dabbling into what may result into a collosal electoral doom for the party in coming polls.
Ajibulu dropped the hint against the lingering controversies trailing the credibility of the Governor Buni led national caretaker committee of the APC, to conduct foolpro of elections.
He also expressed worry on the APC leadership arrangements in Ekiti state, rooting that the next goveenor should come from the Southern part.
Demands for the dissolution of the current national caretaker committee, peaked with the narrow margined victory of the Ondo State governor, Rotimi Akeredolu at the Supreme court yesterday.
The 4 to 3 decision of the judges at the apex court had exposed the legal implications of the Buni led caretaker committee, in conducting unchallengeable elections.

Reacting, Ajibulu advised that the APC, through its leadership tow the safe track by calling back the Adams Oshiomole leadership to midwife pending congresses and elections to lend needed legal teeth to the exercises.
According to him; ” time is of essence and the only way to move with time is to return to status quo. We need to avoid every vindictive strategy that may turn our victory to waste at the electoral tribunals. And to achieve this, we all must be ready to bury the past, discard with ego and work our party to assured victory,” he said.
Ajibulu, who bemoaned the polarisation of the APC in Ekiti state, also called on every warring parties to shielth swords and come together in unity to see APC to victory in the state.
He prevailed on party hierarchy in the state to begin the peace process by zoning the next governorship slot to the South.
According to him, the fact that the southern Ekiti has not produced governor since the creation of the state, is a silent war that no amount of justifications can win.
“If we see ourselves as brothers, if we see ourselves as one, morality demands that we should cede governorship to the South in the coming elections. The governorship has gone round the north and the central sections of Ekiti and it is just fair to now consider the South.
“I also want to call on our politicians from the South to work together and narrow down on one or two persons to represent them and avoid multiple aspirations which result may be counterproductive.
“I believe the southern Ekiti is not in short of credible and knowledgeable politicians who can represent them and lead the state satisfactorily,” he said
