Alawe Cautions Politicians Against Violence In Ilawe

.Sets Up Operational Office To Monitor Any Breach of The Peach

Representatives of all political parties and other political stake holders including commercial vehicle and motor cycle unions in Ilawe Ekiti have vowed that there would be no violence of any sort in the town during next Saturday’s Governorship election.

Their decision followed the admonition given by the Alawe of Ilawe Ekiti, HRM, Obà Adebanji Ajibade Alabi,AFUNTADE 1, this evening, Wednesday, 15th June, 2022 at a crucial meeting in his palace stressing that he would not want any political bloodshed or violence in his domain before, during and after the election.

Oba Alabi reminded all the people at the meeting that Ilawe should not be known for violence and warned that no political party or drivers Union should allow the importation of thugs to Ilawe adding that he and the entire Alawe in Council had also approached the matter spiritually to avert violence.

The Alawe further warmed the politicians against spreading rumours of violence and intimidation saying voters must cast their votes and stay within their wards.

Oba Alabi later announced the setting up of an operational office with a dedicated phone number which would be headed by a High Chief who is not a member of any political party.

According to him, any hitches or reports of any breach of the peace should be communicated to the office through the dedicated phone number already released to participants at the meeting to enable him promptly act on the information.

In a statement signed by Media Adviser to the Alawe, High Chief Ajibade Olubunmi, Alawe said, “this is to complement the efforts of the various security agents”.

At the meeting which was also attended by heads of the security outfits in Ekiti south West local government, the Divisional Police Officer in Ilawe S P Adeyemo stressed that security agents would leave no stone unturned in preventing the breach of the peace in Ilawe.
