The Alawe of Ilawe Ekiti, HRM Oba Adebanji Ajibade Alabi , AFUNTADE1, has made a passionate plea to Medical Doctors throughout the nation who are currently on strike to end their industrial action and pave way for amicable resolution to all the issues leading to the crisis.
The monarch also appealed to the Federal Government to recoincile current differences with the National Association of Resident Doctors ( NARD) as a panacea to the the ongoing industrial action by the medical dictors.
Oba Alabi appealed to the Federal Government to end the court actions taken on the matter and resolve the crisis through a round table discussion in the overall interest of the common people of Nigeria.
Speaking in his Palace at Ilawe Ekiti on 18th September 2021 during a stakeholders meeting to mobilise his community to take advantage of current vaccination exercise against Covid-19, Oba Alabi opined that the industrial action embarked upon by the doctors has been having adverse effects on members of the public and those in government noting that an early resolution to the matter would be in the best interest of the Nation.
The Alawe noted that with available information on the spread of Cholera, third wave of covud-19 and other viral diseases in the country, the government and the doctors should resolve the matter expeditiously.
The monarch advised the Federal government and all state governments to provide modern facilities in Nigerian hospitals and take a holistic overhaul of the health sector to make a modern and affordable health services available to the people.
In addition, adequate monetary packages should be put in place for medical personnel to forestall their migration to other countries .
Oba Alabi who expressed concern over incessant industrial actions in the health sector, stressed that the Federal government should always allocate huge amount of money in the budget to revamp the sector with particular reference to provision of modern facilities in the hospitals and payment of health workers their entitlements as at when due.
