Indeed, quality leadership is about the people and the people should come first; no doubt Hon. Godday Samuel has continued to demonstrate capacity, commitment and dedication to serve his people beyond the scope of mere propaganda and fake promises.
Earlier today, beneficiaries from over thirty communities in the riverine areas of Agatu Local Government Area received different relief materials from the Member representing Apa/Agatu Federal Constituency of Benue State, Hon. Samuel Odagboyi Godday, through the intervention of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).
The items distributed include one hundred mattresses, one hundred mats, one hundred children’s wears and one hundred mosquito nets.
Presenting the items on behalf of the Honourable Member, Engr. Peter Ochohepo noted that, the unfortunate challenges faced by riverine communities of Agatu LGA, particularly herders/farmers crisis and flooding, necessitated the gesture which is aimed at providing recovery support for the people.
Engr. Ochohepo further stated that, the Reps is very much committed to the welfare of riverine people whose socio-economic impact to the Agatu nation is enormous.
The Honourable Member through his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity encouraged the beneficiaries to remain thankful to God for life despite their circumstances, which should not be politicised for any personal gratification by self-centred politicians.
He informed the people that, more interventions are on the way in few weeks time for the riverine communities within Agatu.
The beneficiaries thanked the Honourable Member for acknowledging their plight and taking the bull by the horn; presenting such items in their numbers.
Amongst the befitting communities are, Oweto, Inminyi, Akpeko, Ocholonya, Olegeje, Iga Gishu, Utugolugwu, Ebete, RCC, Oweto 2, Abugbe, Ejima-gega, etc.
