…Say Appointment fulfilment of long time yearnings
The inauguration of Dr. (Mrs.) Habibat Omolara Adubiaro, as Secretary to Ekiti State Government excited Muslims in Ekiti state as they thronged the inauguration venue in their large numbers.
With the enthusiasm shone brightly on faces of the faithfuls, one don’t need any soothsayer to describe how excited the Muslims were. The shout of ‘Allahu Akibar’ rented the air at the mention of Adubiaro’s name during the recitation of her Citation.
The Grand Imam of Ekiti state and President General league of Imams and Alfas, Edo and Delta, Alhaji Jamiu Kewulere who was present alongside other Muslim leaders did not hide his joy as he was seen beaming with smile all through the program.
Some of the Muslims who spoke with newsmen after the inauguration of Dr. Adubiaro hailed Governor Oyebanji for the choice of the University Don as Ekiti SSG. They described the appointment as a welcome development and fulfilment of long-time yearnings that Muslim should be considered for top position in the state.
One of the Muslims, Alfa Muraina Bello could not hide his feelings on the development when he spoke with newsmen.
He said, “Today is one of my happiest days, seeing a fellow Muslim at one of the top seats in Ekiti state. We Muslims are very happy for this opportunity coming after years of yearning for a Muslim to be considered for big position in the state.
“Our Governor, His Excellency, Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji has started well and won the hearts of Ekiti Muslims with this appointment. We are extremely grateful”
Another Muslim, Alhaja Silifat Olorungbebe shared her view on the inauguration of the SSG.
“You don’t need anyone to tell you how excited we are over the appointment of Dr Habibat Adubiaro as Secretary to Ekiti State Government. The Governor has done the right thing by identifying with various interests.
“He is not only giving us a Muslim but a worthy one. Dr. Adubiaro is an epitome of integrity and humility. We are confident that she would protect the interest of Muslims in Ekiti state”
Recall that Ekiti state Governor, Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji had on October 16th announced Dr. Adubiaro as Secretary to State Government.
Moment after the announcement of her appointment, various Muslim groups have been thronging her residence to show their support for her.
