A 29-Year-old Cultist Remanded Over Murder

 

Heritagenewsng reports that a 29-year-old suspected cultist, Omoyeni Ibukun, has been remanded at a correctional facility in Ado-Ekiti for alleged murder and membership of a secret cult.

The prosecutor, Inspector Celeb Leramo, told the court yesterday that the suspect was reasonably suspected to be a member of the Eiye secret cult and the killer of some persons, including Omolade Olasunkanmi and Samuel Oluwatimilehin.

Inspector Leramo, urged the court to remand the suspect, adding that he would duplicate the case file and forward it to the Director of Public Prosecution, DPP, for legal advice.

According to him, the offence is punishable under Section 319 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ekiti State, 2012 and Section 4(1) of Secret Cult Abolition Law 2017 on April 18, 2021 in Ikere-Ekiti.

The Magistrate, Mrs Titilayo Ola-Olorun, ordered that the suspect be remanded in prison custody and adjourned to September 1, 2021.
