Organizing secretaries at the Ekiti State Sports Council have organized their end of year Get-together.
The event held at the Conference Hall of the Sports Council was graced by the Board Chairman, Hon.Mrs Olusola Osetoba and the General Manager, Mr Adeyemi Adekunle who both shared words of encouragement with Organizing Secretaries on how to enhance their capacities and productivity in the fast approaching new year.
The Sports Council boss urged all members of the Sports Council to eschew bitterness, rivalry,gossip,
partisanship and all acts capable of derailing the developmental efforts of the Sports Council Management.
She thanked the General Manager for his loyalty, diligence and commitment urging all members of staff, especially the organizing department to emulate the GM’s virtues in a bid to fast track the realization of the state government’s objective and goals for the Sports Council.
Hon.Osetoba noted that some staff were shirking in their various responsibilities while some were up and doing as expected.
While welcoming back the Director of Organizing, Mr Isaac Elegbeleye who recently joined the Sports Council from the Sport Ministry, Hon.Osetoba urged the staff to avoid factions and unholy tendencies.
In his remarks, the General Manager, Mr Adekunle Adeyemi reciprocated by acknowledging and commending the cooperation and large heart of the Sports Council Chairman whom he said has been playing an all encompassing and open door policy.
He said the zeal of the Sports Council boss has tremendously helped to achieve a working synergy and relationship with an assurance that both of them would keep it up.
The Director of Organizing Department, Ekiti State Sports Council, Mr Isaac Elegbeleye while speaking at the occasion applauded the partnership between the political and administrative heads of the Sports Council.
He noted the smooth relationship between the duo of Hon.Mrs Olusola Osetoba (Chairman) and Mr Adekunle Adeyemi (General Manager) has gone a long way to positively impact on the Sports Council.
The Director who said there were heavy load of work on staff of the Organizing Department urged the Management to help in the recruitment of new staff in the department.
Mr Elegbeleye also urged the Organizing Secretaries to be more proactive and committed in the new year with a view to enhancing productivity.
Also at the occasion, a former staff of the Sports Council, Chief Olusoji Olujobi who retired in February 2020 was honoured.
Members of the Organizing Department described Chief Olujobi who joined the Ekiti State Sports Council in 1995 retired after 25 years in service as a diligent and committed staff.
Having toured almost all the departments of the Sports Council, Chief Olujobi in his remarks urged the Sports Council staff to develop themselves academically in a bid to improve their capacities.
The retired staff of the Sports Council who recieved a standing fan as gift from the Organizing Department was celebrated with songs while all those in attendance wined and dined.
Mrs Mercy Adegbuji who spoke about the virtues of Chief Olusoji Olujobi whom she worked with for several years spoke glowingly about him .
A member of the department, Mrs Seyi Olorunisola on behalf of the entire colleagues thanked the Management and guests for honouring the invitation to the occasion with a promise that the department would keep striving towards contributing to the growth of the Sports Council.
