Heritagenewsng reports that the recent positive development at the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Ekiti state chapter has caught the attention of an Ekiti born journalist based in the United States, Mr Rotimi Arabi who promised to key into the efforts of the current leadership of the Association to make it greater.
In fulfilment of the promise he made in September to support SWAN, Ekiti State, Mr Arabi has donated a reachargeable fan for the body of Sports Journalists.
Speaking from his base in Washington DC, USA, he said the decision to get a fan was borne out of the desire to make the SWAN gallery conducive for members who converge to watch and report sporting events at the stadium.
While promising to do more in the coming weeks.he said he was impressed with the leadership style of the Qozeem Oladapo led executive which has endeared local sports to Ekiti people at home and in the diaspora by giving each and every sports inclined individual daily dose of sports news via the social media.
Mr Rotimi Arabi urged SWAN not to relent but intensify efforts at keeping every sports inclined individual abreast of every development in Ekiti sporting arena.
While urging SWAN leadership to come up with an initiative to involve more sports loving people in its programs and activities, the Igede Ekiti born journalist urged other stakeholders to support the body of Sports journalists for members to do more at attracting partnership for Ekiti Sports and promoting it with more passion and commitment.
The rechargeable fan which was delivered to the chairman of SWAN, Qozeem Oladapo in Ado Ekiti on Friday October 1 coincided with the anniversary of creation of Ekiti state and independence of Nigeria.
