There was palpable excitement in Aramoko-Ekiti as the member representing Ekiti Central Federal Constituency II in the House of Representatives, Hon. Biodun Omoleye, carried out an inspection of ongoing township road projects in the community, drawing cheers and commendation from residents.

The projects, located in the Ijowa and Ijofi areas, are already transforming the landscape of the town, less than a month after construction began.

Omoleye, who undertook the inspection to assess the pace and standard of work, expressed satisfaction with the quality of delivery, noting that the level of progress recorded within such a short period was encouraging.

Despite the visit being unannounced, a large number of residents trooped out to welcome the lawmaker, turning the exercise into a moment of appreciation and solidarity.

Omoleye described the reception as a clear indication of the people’s trust in his leadership and commitment to development.

He explained that the road projects were designed not only to improve mobility but also to stimulate economic activities within the communities.

According to him, the inclusion of drainage systems on both sides of the roads would ensure durability and effectively address erosion challenges in the area.

The lawmaker disclosed that asphalt would be laid on the roads in the coming weeks, while solar-powered streetlights would be installed upon completion to enhance security and improve nighttime visibility.

He, however, urged residents to take ownership of the projects by protecting the infrastructure, warning against practices such as blocking drainage channels or damaging the roads, which could shorten their lifespan.

Omoleye further revealed that his visit enabled him to identify additional needs, leading to the extension of certain sections of the projects to better cater to the demands of the people.

Reaffirming his commitment to grassroots development, he assured constituents that more rural roads, particularly within farm settlements, would soon be constructed to support agriculture and improve livelihoods across the constituency.

On the political front, the lawmaker called on residents to continue supporting the All Progressives Congress (APC), stressing that sustained support for the party would attract more developmental projects to the area.

He also urged eligible voters to turn out en masse for the June 20 governorship election to re-elect Governor Biodun Oyebanji, citing the administration’s achievements in key sectors such as education, health, and agriculture.

In his remarks, the member representing Ekiti West Constituency I in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Kareem Agunbiade, described the projects as unprecedented in Aramoko-Ekiti, noting that they mark a major milestone in the town’s development.

Agunbiade called on residents to reciprocate the gesture by supporting Omoleye’s second-term bid, expressing confidence in his capacity to deliver more dividends of democracy.

Also speaking, a community leader, Oluode Olajide Ogunluyi, commended the lawmaker for facilitating what he described as “legacy projects,” pointing to the remarkable level of progress achieved within a short time.

Similarly, a resident, Deaconess Comfort Oyebade, expressed relief over the intervention, noting that the drainage systems would help resolve longstanding erosion challenges in the area.

Both speakers pledged their continued support for Omoleye and offered prayers for his continued success in public service.
