As primary election for the State House of Assembly and National Assembly seats draws nearer, the party leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government have unanimously endorsed the Senate Leader and Senator representing Ekiti Central Senatorial district at the National Assembly, distinguished Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, MOB and the Honourable representing Ado/Irepodun-Ifelodun Federal Constituency I, Fatoba Olusola Steve, for another term in office.

The endorsement, which took place in Iyin Ekiti, the hometown of Senator Bamidele on Sunday 5th, 2026, was a clear evidence of the numerous developmental strides and effective representation of the duo at the National Assembly.
Moving the motion for the endorsement of Senator Bamidele, the Chairman of APC in Igbemo-Ekiti and Chairman of all APC Ward Chairmen in the town, Chief Akinsola Peter, commended the Senator’s leadership capacity, legislative competence, and commitment to the welfare of the people of his constituents.

The motion was seconded by the APC Women Leader and a prominent stakeholder, Chief Mrs. Caroline Egunlusi, with no counter motion, reflecting unanimous acceptance.
In the same vein, Major Tajudeen Olufemi Awe (Rtd.), former Chairman of Irepodun-Ifelodun Local Government, moved the motion for the endorsement of Honourable Fatoba Olusola Steve to continue representing Ado/Irepodun-Ifelodun Federal Constituency I.
The motion was seconded by the APC Vice Chairman in the Local Government Hon. Olorunfemi Olusola without any counter motion.

As a result of the motions, the anchor of the stakeholders’ meeting, Rt. Hon. Taiwo Olatunbosun Franklin, who is also from the local government, conducted voice affirmation of all party members across the eleven wards, they overwhelmingly endorsed Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele for Ekiti Central Senatorial District and Honourable Fatoba Olusola Steve for the House of Representatives, Ekiti Central constituency 1.
The meeting concluded on a good note, as party leaders and stakeholders expressed satisfaction with the unity, cooperation, and shared vision demonstrated among members which reaffirmed their collective commitment to sustained progress and continuity of quality representation.
