Rejoinder: Ekiti Youth Groups Reject Imposition, Demand Transparent APC Primaries

23/03/2026.

The attention of the Federation of Ado Ekiti Students Union,National Union Government ( *FASU* ) has been drawn to a recent publication suggesting that youth groups in Ekiti State are rejecting alleged imposition and calling for certain political actions ahead of the 2027 general elections.

As a responsible and forward-thinking student body representing the collective interests of Ado Ekiti students, we wish to state clearly that while democratic principles and inclusiveness remain vital, the issue of continuity must be carefully considered in the overall interest of Ado/Irepodun-Ifelodun Federal Constituency 1.

Continuity in governance and representation is not about promoting individual ambition, but about sustaining progress, preserving institutional knowledge, and ensuring political stability within Ado Ekiti. Abrupt disruptions in representation often come at the cost of stalled development and lost opportunities, which our constituency cannot afford at this critical time.

The possible return of Hon. Steve Olusola Fatoba to the National Assembly presents a strategic advantage for our constituency. His experience, legislative exposure, and network within the national political space position him for higher responsibilities that will ultimately translate into greater benefits and more impactful representation for our people.

We wish to reaffirm that FASU remains respectful and supportive of all leaders of our great party. We trust in their capacity to take decisions that will promote unity, progress, and electoral success for the party, the constituency, and Ekiti State at large.

We therefore call on all students and youths to remain peaceful, constructive, and united, placing the long-term development of Ado Ekiti above all other considerations.
